Iken’s Charity of the year is now in it’s fifth year.
Our Charity of the Year is an important part of our corporate social responsibility. Iken is dedicated to doing what we can to help the community through a combination of different projects.
This year we have chosen two charities – Amnesty International and The Wave Project. We are hoping to raise a total of £1200 to split between both charities.
Amnesty International is a charity that carries out charitable human rights work. Their activities includes investigating and legally fighting various serious human rights abuses across the world. They raise awareness, do research, and use the press/media as a tool for advocacy and a call for action. You can find out more about the different work they do from their website: https://www.amnesty.org/en/who-we-are/.
The Wave Project focuses on young people aged 8 to 21 who have been diagnosed with mental health issues. They use surfing therapy as a way of bringing sustained wellbeing to the children and young adults under their care. We are extremely pleased to be working with two charities who are helping people with different needs and challenges gain freedom to be their best selves and live to their full potential.
