Highlights from Iken’s User Group, Durham

How it works

Once our clients have invested in our knowledge management software, it’s really important to us that they benefit from the full functionality. That’s why we’ve been running Iken User Group events all over the UK for the past 15 years.

At these sessions, we reveal all the latest feature updates, present the Iken roadmap and listen to insights from our public sector clients about using Iken. We circulate feedback from the event not just to our technical team, but to the whole business so that there is total transparency on ways we can improve our products.

Durham County Council

As soon as we arrived at Durham for our most recent user group, we were spoilt by absolutely stunning views of the city in the sunshine – it made a great setting for a day of talks and discussions.

Iken Roadmap

Once everyone had settled in, we had a brilliant introduction about the history and culture of Durham from Durham County Council Practice Manager, Sam Thompson. Then the roadmap was presented, featuring upcoming updates and how users can get involved.

Using Iken

Sam Thompson, Practice Manager at Durham County Council, said that he had found Iken was particularly useful when working from home or during bad weather. It was simple to access WiFi and just work from home without having to carry stacks of heavy paperwork around with him.

He also described how using Iken workflows had been invaluable for Durham County Council in helping them save time and improve productivity, and shared tips on using the technology with other user group attendees.

This was brilliant to see as one of the core reasons behind Iken running these user groups is to give users of Iken a chance to meet and share best practices. Though it provides us with the opportunity to share any software updates, the event is really driven by our users.

All in all, this was a really productive user group session. We are grateful to have such an active client base to help us enhance our software and shape the future of public sector technology. Thank-you to everyone who attended, we hope to see you at our next user group meeting.

Iken Staff
The name Iken is derived from the Scottish verb "to ken" meaning "to know". Related to the adjective "canny", describing someone who is wise, perceptive and incisive, we want to help you to be cannier. Iken software has been developed to help you and your team extend your "ken" by having exactly the right information at hand precisely when you need it.
