Founder
Andrew Chester
Andrew co-founded Iken in 1992, bringing over 40 years of experience in IT, with a particular focus on case-centric software for the public sector. With a PhD in Economics and a deep understanding of systems design, Andrew played a central role in shaping Iken’s early development—drawing on his extensive expertise in land charges, planning, and electoral registration to build tools that supported professional productivity and public service delivery.
Much more than our co-founder, Andrew was a brilliant developer, a generous mentor, and a deeply respected colleague. His impact on Iken—both in technology and in culture—cannot be overstated. His calm presence, sharp intellect, and unwavering commitment to quality left an indelible mark on our team, our clients, and the software itself.
We will remember Andrew not only for his visionary thinking and contributions to legal technology, but for the kindness and humility with which he worked alongside others.
